Tebow debuted in minor league baseball yesterday after switching from pro football where he couldn’t land a QB job to minor league’s class A Columbia Fireflies. (I know, it sounds like a little girls’ softball team, but hey, they’re paying him to play ball. He’s a grown man playing baseball for a living. Call the team the Popsicles if you want to, right?) The Popsicles, oops, I mean the Fireflies, must have felt a bit of redemption when their controversial new man hit a two run homer in his first at-bat for their club. Tebow took it all in stride saying at the post game interview, “for me it’s just one day”.

The sold out crowd at Spirit Communications Park went nuts at the missile. Chanting the famous “Te-bow! Te-bow!” before his at-bat, perhaps they fueled some part of his comeback story.

When I read another bit about Tebow, this athlete who never gives up, I ask myself, “What are you being too passive about, Jacqueline? What do you want to accomplish bad enough to keep failing at it until you succeed?” Abraham Lincoln absolutely sucked at politics. He got beat over and over, yet kept running for office. Today he couldn’t raise the funding to resurrect another campaign. What dream do YOU have inside YOU that you just keep stuffing down and ignoring?

You can go here and watch the Tebow swing and post game interview. I mined the ESPN story for my own report.

You can also read my review of Tim Tebow’s book Shaken here:  https://thebookbuffet.wordpress.com/2016/12/08/shaken-by-tim-tebow/

It’s an interesting story you never read in the media during all the hoopla about his career, him getting the ax and why he wouldn’t just play running back.

It will be interesting to watch Tebow’s baseball career, be it long or short, amazing or a one shot wonder. But after reading Shaken I know this, if he doesn’t succeed in the world of baseball, he will ok. The part of Tim that is really Tim will be just fine.
